Starting a home renovation project?

Walk-in permitting on Tuesday evenings can help.
The City of Fort Worth strives to make the process for completing minor remodel or home-improvement projects as easy as possible. The Planning and Development Department accepts building permit applications each Tuesday evening until 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton St.

Permits that are considered walk-in permits will be issued on the same day, if possible. Permits for new construction and additions will be accepted and reviewed in the order they are received.

7/8/2016 Brick Fence Restoration Project

LI Services has been contracted to begin the brick fence restoration project beginning in July and concluding in September.
During the project, they may need access to the wall through your backyard. The length of time LI Services will need in each yard will depend on the kind of work they need to do on the panels and the number of panels on which they will need to work. Please secure your pets during this time frame.
Please call Kim Musser with FirstService Residential with any questions – 817-380-7012.

2/8/2016  Fort Worth Garbage & Recycling APP

The city is encouraging residents to take advantage of the Fort Worth Garbage & Recycling APP that can be downloaded free from GooglePlay or iTunes for Android or Apple devices. Residents will receive reminders before their service days as well as incidents that we’re experiencing currently with the delayed bulk collections. You can choose how to receive reminders: text message, email or voice message.

Following these simple guidelines will help the contractors stay on schedule for collection:

  • Place bulk items on the curb by 7 a.m. Monday of your assigned week.
  • Tree limbs that are greater than four inches in diameter or longer than eight feet are considered bulk.
  • If you’re putting out other bulk items, such as furniture, they need to be kept separate from the yard debris to allow for proper and timely collection.

For additional questions, notify the city’s call center at 817-392-1234.
